Mount Yokote Summit Hutt & Bakery
Located at 2300m, this is the extreme place to be !
Being on the summit does come with some obstacles:
No Road Access - Ski-lift, Catapillar or Snow Mobile Only
Pickup & Return at Beginning & End of Stay is provided, but daily access to & from Hotel should be made under your own steam (ski & use ski lift).
Lifts close around 4:30pm or earlier when weather is bad.
If a catapillar ride is needed, expect to give a generous tip (2000JPY-ish)
Hot dial Craig 080-6938-3361 for emergency transport issues.
Note however cell phone reception may be difficult near the hut.
Often the temperature will be around -25deg C & sometimes high winds - please remember it is the summit of quite a high mountain - conditions may sometimes be exciting^-^.
No bath or shower in rooms.
Communal Bath - limited times:
Bath Time 16:00 - 21:00 only
Dinner Time 18:00 only
Breakfast 07:30 only
Staff speak Japanese only. Very little English.
Be ready to pioneer Japanese Backcountry^-^.
Please listen carefully at check in for other safety related issues...remember you are staying at 2300meters - conditions are very different from lower ski feilds in Ichinose - Shigakogen or Hokkaido.
